FieldShift for Jira Cloud
Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
Who we are
FieldShift is an app for Jira Cloud that changes a custom field's type by copying its values into a new field. It is built and supported by Debayan Sen (nodd), reachable at support@nodd.in.
The short version
- FieldShift runs entirely on Atlassian's own cloud (it qualifies for Runs on Atlassian).
- No data from your Jira site is ever sent to us or to anyone outside Atlassian.
- FieldShift stores no names, email addresses or account IDs.
What FieldShift reads
Only what it needs to do the conversion you start: your list of custom fields, the screens a field is on, and the value of the chosen field on each issue. It reads these through your site's Jira API, inside Atlassian's platform.
What FieldShift stores
A record of each conversion: the field names and IDs, the counts of values copied, skipped and not converted, and the issue keys of any values that could not be converted, so an admin can fix them. These records are kept in Forge storage on Atlassian's infrastructure, tied to your site, and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
What FieldShift changes
When an admin presses Convert, FieldShift creates a new custom field, adds it to the screens the old field is on, adds dropdown choices if needed, and writes the converted values into the new field. It never changes or deletes the old field or its values.
What we can see
We do not receive your Jira data. If your site chooses to share app logs with developers, Atlassian may show us error messages from FieldShift, which can include an issue key. We use these only to fix problems.
Your rights and questions
Because FieldShift stores no personal data, there is nothing personal for us to export or erase. For any question about privacy, email support@nodd.in.
